Ridgeland-Hardeeville football team picks up its first win

Ridgeland-Hardeeville 16, Savannah Country Day 13

Down 13-0 at the half, the Jaguars' defense pitched a shutout in the second half, and Ridgeland-Hardeeville (1-2) scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to earn its first win of the season in its home opener.

Savannah Country Day missed a potential game-tying 48-yard field goal with 1:17 remaining in the game.

"It was a great team win," Ridgeland-Hardeeville coach Blake Raley said. "We came together as a team."

Michale Horton got Ridgeland-Hardeeville on the board in the fourth with a 2-yard touchdown run. Marquis Griffin added the two-point conversion.

Deo'vonte Doe later turned in the go-ahead 42-yard touchdown run, and Derrell Meyers added the two-point conversion run.

Amar Wilkins and Kaelin Devore had key fumble recoveries to aid the comeback.
