Tour the country from a seat at The Follies

Published: September 6, 2012

A Sun City institution for ten years, the Follies are back this year, directed by Larry DellaVecchia. On stage at Magnolia Hall, the variety show is a tour of the U.S.A. with the Golden Girls (Gabrielle Testa, Judy Colwell, Carol Cook and Joanne Murray).

They travel to Miami Beach, Nashville, Las Vegas, and the west coast. As the Golden Girls arrive in South Beach, Fla., ladies of the evening (Lee Weyrich, Brenda Compton, B.J. Livigni, Jimella Cryer, Rose Ickes, Beverly Thiel, Joyce Ritchkin, Pat Dapice and Ellen Maresca) dance to the song "Livin' La Vida Loco".

Stan Grossman will do a comedy routine as Charlie Chaplin; and Candy Matera, Sandy Fuhrman, Ellen Maresca, Sheila Belcourt, Genny Scrivner, Barbara Henry, Phyllis Doyle, and Don Maresca entertain with "Greased Lightning".

The Redneck Women (Pat Dapice, Beverly Thiel, Genny Scrivner, Candy Matera, and BJ Livigni) dance in Nashville, and cloggers Sheila Belcourt, Beverly Thiel, Alice Wittman, and Jimella Cryer) will dance to "I'll Fly Away" in choir robes.

As they work their way to the west coast, the Golden Girls will be entertained by Pat Schwartz and Dan Kam singing a duet, "Bewitched" sung by Nancy Laws, and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" sung by Ed Grieve, amoung other numbers. Also, you won't want to miss the Leggy Ladies dancing to "Luck Be a Lady."
