VOLLEYBALL
Thomas Heyward 3, Patrick Henry 0: Victoria Quick was 17 for 19 serving with nine kills, three aces, one dig and an assist to lead the Rebels (6-3) past Patrick Henry Academy, 25-18, 25-11, 25-8.
Jordan Honneycutt was 12 for 12 on serves with five kills and four aces for Thomas Heyward. Other contributors included Jordan Brown (five aces), Taylor Ernestine (eight assists), Laynee Bryan (seven aces) and Chandler Cook (four kills and two aces).
Thomas Heyward hosts Orangeburg Prep at 5 today.
Ashley Hall 3, Hilton Head Christian 0: The Eagles (2-3) fell 25-9, 25-19, 25-14.
Meaghen Gillis had seven digs, and Stevie Desimone added five kills and two blocks for Hilton Head Christian, which plays at 5 today at Porter-Gaud
Pinewood Prep 3, Hilton Head Prep 2: Brooke Churchich had 28 assists, and Jill Brunori had five blocks in the Dolphins 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 14-25, 15-3 loss to Pinewood Prep.
Haley Parker and Abby Miles played a strong match for Hilton Head Prep, while Rowan Baltzley added 11 straight serves and four aces for the Dolphins who play at 5 today at Ashley Hall.
JV: Thomas Heyward 2, Patrick Henry 0 (25-11, 25-12)
SWIMMING
Beaufort High School: The Eagles opened their season on the road, taking on a deep Ashley Ridge team. Ashley Ridge won the boys meet, 107-49, and the girls events, 105-64.
Beaufort High won three events, including two relays. Elliott Gayken was the winner in the boys 400-meter freestyle, and the Eagles also won the boys and girls 200-meter freestyle relays. Swimming on the girls relay team were Rebecca Mandell, Laura Barras, Elizabeth Mandell and Maisie Gayken. Beaufort's victorious boys relay team consisted of Tommy Collins, Will Bootle, Thomas Selby and Andrew Woods.
The Eagles will swim at home on Thursday against Battery Creek and Beaufort Academy.
