A fire that damaged a shed on Bruce K. Smalls Road is being called suspicious by fire officials in the community.

Burton firefighters and Beaufort County paramedics were dispatched at about 2 a.m. Sunday after the fire was reported.

The shed, behind an abandoned home, was burning when they arrived.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, and although firefighters called it suspicious, they did not request an investigation.
