Rebels' QB/DB accounted for four TDs on offense, two interceptions on defense

Thomas Heyward Academy quarterback/defensive back JD Tuten has committed to play football at Division III Berry College.

Thomas Heyward Academy quarterback/defensive back JD Tuten won the fan voting for the Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette Player of the Week Award for Week 1.

Tuten, who took 93 percent of the vote, rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns and passed for two more touchdowns in a 40-14 win over Bible Baptist. He passed for 70 yards, punted twice for a 35-yard average, returned a punt 18 yards, made five tackles and had two interceptions.
