Fripp Island set to host Kingfish tournament this weekend

Fripp Island will host its 22nd annual Kingfish Invitational Tournament this weekend.

The two-day event will pay out a total of $5,000 in prize money.

Registration will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Fripp Island Marina. The entry fee is $250 per boat and $60 for each additional person.

A cook-out will be held following registration and the captain's meeting. A representative from each boat must attend the captain's meeting.

The fish days are from 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday with weigh-in being held from 3-5 p.m. at Fripp Island Marina. You may fish one or both days. Boats can depart any time after 12 a.m. on fish days.

First place in the King division pays $2,000, with second earning $1,000. The highest aggregate weight of two kings wins $750. First prize in the Spanish division earns $750, with second taking $550.
