Authorities in Beaufort and Jasper counties arrested two men and seized cash, guns and cocaine in a raid Friday in Ridgeland.

Members of the Beaufort-Jasper Multi-Agency Drug Task Force raided a home on Mitchellville Road after investigating its occupants for more than two months and purchasing illegal drugs there, according to a news release.

James Askew, 29, and Malik Mitchell, 21, both of Ridgeland, were charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, simple possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities seized $547, about 32 grams of cocaine, about 12 grams of marijuana and two handguns, the release said.
