Port Royal Police arrested a 37-year-old man at his Paris Avenue home Thursday after a neighbor told them he came to her home and sexually assaulted her.

The woman told police she was getting ready for work around 5 p.m when Fredrick Charles Mcleod knocked on her door and attacked her when she answered.

She was able to escape and contact relatives, who called 911. Mcleod was arrested a short time later and charged with first-degree burglary and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center jail log.
