Nine lawn ornaments had customers and employees of the Upper Crust restaurant on Sea Island Parkway in Beaufort laughing over their lunches Friday.
The ornaments appeared outside the restaurant overnight and were discovered by a manager around 9 a.m. No one seemed to know how the decorations got there.
David Blake, owner of the Upper Crust, said he suspects the items were stolen from yards as part of a quirky prank.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, no one had claimed the duck, rabbit, gnome, Mickey Mouse bird bath, soccer ball, Uncle Sam figure, sun dial, frog or mushrooms.
Blake said he plans to leave them where they are. Their presence, he said, has delighted diners.
"None of them are broken...," Blake said. "It's kind of tacky, but it's funny."
