H.E. McCracken Middle School


Orientation is 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16 for eighth-graders and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 for ninth-graders. Students and parents/guardians are invited to attend an information session in the cafeteria.

The back-to-school PTA expo is 5-6:30 p.m. Aug. 15. You will obtain your car hang tag, cafeteria information, bus transportation and be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities.

An informal drop-in session for first-grade families to meet with teachers is 8:30-10 a.m. Friday.

Hilton Head Island Middle School


StingRay Startup is Aug. 14: 10-11 a.m. for eighth-graders; 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for seventh-graders; 1-3 p.m. for sixth-graders; and 3-6 p.m. for general registration. Bring proof of residency for returning students if it was not completed over the summer. Student pictures will be taken; uniforms are not necessary.

The first day of school starts at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 20. Any students who have not picked up their schedules should arrive early and report to the front office, which opens at 7 a.m.

Hilton Head Preparatory School


Lower School and new student orientation is Aug. 14 in the Lower School Commons. "Meet the Teacher" will be 1-2 p.m.

The school will be closed Aug. 16 until 1:30 p.m. for the all-staff Beaufort County Schools Rally. Hours will be 1:30-4 p.m.
