David and Melanie Walters of Beaufort announce the engagement of their daughter, Alicia Marie Walters, to Jack Martin Davis Jr. of Beaufort, the son of Florence Elizabeth Davis, of Rogers, Ky., and Jack Martin Davis Sr. and Linda Davis of Beaufort.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Praise Christian Academy. She is employed by Belk. She is a student at the University of South Carolina Beaufort where she is majoring in English. She is the granddaughter of Franklin D. Walters, and the late Barbara Walters of Beaufort, and Lois Harrell and the late Ronald J. Harrell Sr. of Beaufort.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Wolfe County High School, Kentucky. He served in the United States Marine Corps and is a Police Officer with the City of Beaufort Police Department. He is the grandson of the late Fred and Peggy Lee of Beaufort and Kathleen Miller of Beattyville, Ky., and the late Ellis Miller of Owensboro, Ky.

The wedding is planned Oct. 13, 2012, at Richfield Plantation.
