Reeves, Proveaux tied for SCGA Amateur lead; White, Hoft 9 back

Crawford Reeves is tied for first with his future Clemson teammate Cody Proveaux at 6 under par after Friday's second round at the 81st SCGA Amateur Championship at the Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg.

Reeves (64-70--134) and Proveaux (69-65--134) are knotted up a week after they teed off against one another at a U.S. Amateur qualifier in a sudden death playoff, which lasted just one hole. Jordan Sease of Lexington is one shot back at 5 under.

Hilton Head Island's Todd White and Bluffton's Justin Hoft made the cut and are nine shots back at 143. Charlie Niland (Hilton Head Island), Bryson Nimmer (Bluffton) and Ryan Knope Standen (Hilton Head Island) missed the cut.
