After a succcessful year on the field, four Hilton Head Island High School soccer players have been named to SCSoccer.com's 13th annual Super XXII teams.
Midfielder Emily Crick, midfielder Faith Lifer and forward Kelsey Fitzhugh, all rising seniors, were selected to the girls squad, while rising senior midfielder Chris MacMurray made the boys squad.
Crick and MacMurray were the Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette spring MVPs for their respective sports.
Crick, Lifer and Fitzhugh led coach Ernie Suozzi's Seahawks to a 25-2 record and their second consecutive state championship.
MacMurray returned to midfield after a season as a defender and led the Seahawks to their first state title game, netting three game-winning goals, including an overtime score against St. James in the first round of the Class 3-A playoffs.
"I don't think there's a player in our area that means any more to their team than Chris does to ours," coach Wayne Quinlan said after the season. "He does a good job of raising others up around him. He's got a good head for the game and reads the game well. You can't put a price tag on what he does for our team."
