ACHIEVEMENTS
Fifth-grader Queen Hamilton II recently attended the National Young Scholars Program at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. The program is for outstanding third- through fifth-graders. The students participate in interactive activities such as model forensics labs and a journey into the human body. Hamilton attends Forest Hill Elementary School in Walterboro and is the daughter of Queen Hamilton and Richard D. Hamilton of Seabrook.BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

Spirit night is 5 -8 p.m. Aug. 9 at Arby's for the cheerleaders. Schedule pickup days are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the following dates: Aug. 13 for seniors; Aug. 14 for juniors; and Aug. 15 for sophomores. An open house is 1-7:30 p.m. Aug. 15. Pick up your student's class schedule, visit teachers, purchase uniforms at a discounted rate or pick up uniforms ordered in June. There will be door prizes and a free spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.
