The first meeting for a new Illinois Group will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Pavilion in Sun City Hilton Head. The group is for people who may have lived in Illinois at some point or who are fans of Illinois sports teams. The majority of members must be from Sun City, but membership is also open to nonresidents.

Food will be provided by Mi Tierrita and Upper Crust. The cost is $7 a person. Checks can be made out to Illinois Group and delivered to 36 Reedy Place in Sun City.

The group is also looking into the possibility of a bus trip Oct. 7 to Jacksonville to see a Chicago Bears game.

The Coastal Discovery Museum is seeking entries for artwork to be included in its "Marsh Tacky: Now and Then" exhibit. The exhibit will be held from Sept. 13 to Oct. 31 and will trace the history of the horses in South Carolina and recognize the efforts by statewide and national organizations to protect the horse from extinction.

Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply; there are no size limitations. The jury fees are $10 a submission or $30 for four entries. Entries must be received by Sept. 6.
