Two-car crash in Beaufort sends two to hospital

Published: July 21, 2012

Two people were taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital on Saturday afternoon after a two-car, head-on crash on Sea Island Parkway in Beaufort.

A Jeep and a truck collided about 3:30 p.m. near Donna Road, and the drivers sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to Capt. Bob Bromage of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Further information about the drivers was not available Saturday evening.

The Parkway was closed to traffic for about 40 minutes, and only one lane was open until just after 5 p.m., Bromage said. The Lady's Island-St. Helena Fire District, Sheriff's Office deputies, the S.C. Highway Patrol and Beaufort Emergency Medical Services responded. The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
