Pigeon Point playground equipment to be repaired

The city of Beaufort will repair playground equipment at Pigeon Point Park after discovering in June that wooden support posts are rotting.

The work should be completed by mid-September and will be covered under the equipment's warranty, although the city will have to pay for the labor, according to a news release.

The equipment was installed in 2006. Equipment affected by the rot includes overhead ladders, climbers, boardwalks and a treehouse.
