These photos, provided by television station WTOC, show waterspouts that formed offshore in southern Beaufort County just before noon Monday.
The spouts, which were moving toward land, prompted the National Weather Service to issue a tornado warning. However, the warning was canceled at about noon when the spouts dissipated. Above is a shot of the skies over Leamington Beach at Palmetto Dunes. The smaller photo was shot from Palmetto Bluff, overlooking a sandbar in the May River.
