4 juveniles take joyrides on golf carts

Published: July 16, 2012

Four juveniles were charged with trespassing Sunday after they rode around the Eagle's Pointe golf course in community-owned carts as employees chased them, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

An Eagle's Pointe employee called deputies at 11 a.m. Sunday after he saw the four juveniles near the cart barn riding in two different golf carts, which were worth a total of $14,000.

They drove onto the golf course while an employee ran after them, an incident report said.

Deputies found the youths after they had abandoned the golf carts, which were not damaged.

The juveniles said they were in Eagle's Pointe to meet some girls at the pool and thought the golf carts were free for anyone to use, the report said.

Their parents were called to pick them up after they were charged with trespassing.
