The Obama administration is responsible for the "Fast and Furious" program.

The Bush program started in 2006. It was called "Wide Receiver." It ended in 2007. The U.S. was aware of the program, as well as the Mexican government. The purpose was to track guns to see who and where the cartels were. Some of these guns had tracking devices in them. There were about 400 guns involved. The program was stopped because the cartels figured out how to defeat the tracking devices arial surveillance, so the program was shut down in 2007.

"Fast and Furious" started in 2009 under the Obama administration. It involved more than 2,000 guns with no tracking of any kind. The Mexican government was not aware of the program, and our government did not try to stop these guns from going over the border. The result: An American border agent died. The program was stopped after this happened. The purpose: to undermine the Second Amendment.
