The Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head Island will host a "Family Fun Day" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 10 at Honey Horn.
Visitors can throw a cast net, pull up a crab trap, tour the Heritage Garden and see what rice, cotton, indigo and other crops look like.
Children can try on Colonial-era clothing, play with period toys and games, go on a scavenger hunt and learn about shells, turtle bones and other items found on the island.
The Hilton Head Regional Health Care Temporary Exhibit Gallery will feature "Looking Back, Rising Forward - Honoring the History of Gullah-Geechee Islands" by Amiri Farris and Judy Mooney.
The Sandbox Children's Museum, Audubon and Land Trust will also have activities during the day. Food will be available for purchase.
