There are two kinds of people -- "glass half empty" and "glass half full."
The "glass half empty" folks are hard to be around because they will always find something negative to say. The weather is never good enough and they never have enough money. The concept of finding anything to be grateful for escapes them completely. If it's not perfect, then it's no good. You know what I mean -- the world is coming to an end and there's nothing you can do to change it.
The "glass half full" folks are just more optimistic about life. They tend to smile. They seem to start the day out with a plan of action, a goal, a positive thought. They know that things aren't perfect but think that life is a work in progress. They expect to work for what they want, to earn what they have and to be grateful for it. And they know that it's not always easy.
So, politically speaking, who do you want to run the country? I'll take the "glass half full" people every time. I want to hear the "can do" in their thinking. I want them to be willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work on our country's problems. I expect them to behave like reasonable adults, to listen to different points of view, to debate fairly and to stay at the table until a solution is found.
Obviously, I'm a "glass half full" person. Which are you?
