Revelers stumble in road, pass out on path

Published: June 25, 2012

Two revelers on Hilton Head Island partied a little too hard over the weekend, resulting in arrests for public disorderly conduct, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The first arrest occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, when deputies found a 32-year-old man lying on a bike path on Pope Avenue. Due to the man's "grossly intoxicated state within the general view of the public" -- a half-empty bottle of vodka was in his left pocket -- deputies arrested him.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, deputies found a shirtless 21-year-old man stumbling in the middle of Lagoon Road, not far from the Sheriff's Office. When asked for identification, the man told deputies, "What the [expletive] are you saying about my mom, bro!" according to an incident report.

The "highly agitated" suspect was also arrested.
