From where I'm sitting the only entity benefiting from the squabble between the Hargray Communications cable provider and the Fox Sports Carolinas cable channel is the newspaper. Both parties have taken out huge ads stating their position. That's good for the newspaper, but not good for the 7,000 or so Charter Communications subscribers who, with no input whatsoever, have been disenfranchised. I didn't ask Hargray to buy out Charter's cable system in Beaufort and thus change the programs I am accustomed to watching. "Hatfields & McCoys" was on a couple weeks back, and it sounds like these two companies are trying to resurrect the feud right here in Beaufort County. Hopefully no one will be shot, but, hopefully, some grownups on each side will take a further look at the situation. Hargray now has 7,000 additional customers to bargain with and FS Carolinas should see the value in that even if Hargray doesn't meet the fee that FS Carolinas wants. A bigger pool of subscribers equals more dollars for each side. In the meantime, I'll watch the Braves when I can, and at other times I'll get the write up out of the Gazette.
