Dr. and Mrs. Wesley Holland of Hilton Head Island announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Nicole Holland of Sacramento, Calif., to Jonathon Scott Cherne, also of Sacramento.

The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Kellogg of Crossville, Tenn., and Mr. Brent Cherne of Eagle, Idaho.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. She went on to receive her MBA from La Sierra University in Riverside, Calif. She currently is the PR director of The Oak is in the Acorn, a Christian ministry in Oroville, Calif.

The groom-elect is also a graduate of Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, where he earned a BS in Accounting. He went on to receive his JD from Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu, Calif., with a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He has been admitted to the California Bar and is a member of a law firm in Sacramento.
