Arson is suspected in fire that destroyed a pickup in Port Royal on Saturday night, authorities said.

Port Royal Police and Fire departments responding to a blaze near Kents Court mobile home park at about 9:30 p.m. found the gray 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck engulfed in flames.

Witnesses told police they saw or heard an explosion coming from the truck. Fire investigators suspect arson; a suspect has not been named.

The truck, valued at $14,000, was destroyed, according to police incident reports.
