  • Hilton Head Island Elementary School for the Creative Arts

    ACHIEVEMENTS

  • P.E. teacher Mrs. Wheeler and the Strength Team were named one of the nine regional winners and received a cash award of $25,000 in a nationwide competition designed to identify and reward the country's most creative and effective school-based programs to promote children's physical activity.

  • The South Carolina Arts Commission has awarded the school an Arts in the Basic Curriculum grant for $5,624 for the 2012-13 school year. The grant will be used to support an arts-infused curriculum.

  • Art teacher Sylvia Pitts was a finalist for the Contemporary Artist of the Year Award from the Columbia Museum of Art. Her piece, "Red Eyed Frog," was one of the few pieces chosen for a juried show.

  • All students are required to provide proof of residency. Completed forms can be brought to the office 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning July 2. A translator will be available the week of Aug. 13.

  • Hilton Head Island Middle School

  • Ninth-grade orientation is Aug. 7 at Hilton Head Island High School. Students will spend a day at the high school, learn their schedule, get their lockers and have a cookout for lunch.

  • Hilton Head Preparatory School

  • July is Re-Registration Month for Red Cedar Elementary. Plan on coming to the school for about 45 minutes in the month of July to re-register. Bring in a current bill and copy of your mortgage or rental agreement to re-enroll your child. The school will give out a drawstring backpack to each student that is re-registered in July.
