Beaufort County plans ceremonies for Flag Day, Jun 14

Two public Flag Day ceremonies are planned today in Beaufort County.

The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a 235th birthday celebration for the American flag from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort. Members of the St. Peter Catholic Church choir will perform patriotic music. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets. The sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

American Legion Post 185 will hold a Flag Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park on Shelter Cove Lane on Hilton Head Island beginning at 11 a.m.
