There is a special treat in store for lovers of sailing and boating. The Savannah Tall Ships Festival is scheduled for Thursday-Monday. Fifteen tall ships are expected to arrive in Savannah for a weekend full of fun for all.
On Thursday, weather permitting, ships will begin sailing up the Savannah River and dock at Rousakis Plaza. A special treat for children will be a life-size replica of Theodore Too, a beloved character in Canadian children's books and television. Theodore Too will be the main attraction at Kids Cove Adventure, a Tall Ships event designed just for little ones. I, of course, can't wait to see it all!
Hugh Golson, Charlie and Nancy's brother, will give a talk on the War of 1812 at 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be puppets, pirates and all sorts of entertainment throughout the weekend.
