A Hilton Head Island woman was chopping vegetables Monday in her apartment when she saw a tow-truck driver hooking up her vehicle. She ran outside still holding a paring knife.

The Palmetto Towing employee called the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office when the woman began banging on the window with the knife in hand at about 4 p.m., and he waited in his truck in the parking lot until officers arrived at The Oaks, according to a report.

Coastal Security officers reported they saw the woman running out with a knife in one hand and a yellow vegetable in the other. When they told her to put the knife down, she immediately went back to put it in her apartment before returning.

Deputies who entered her apartment saw that she had been making dinner, according to the report.

No one was arrested as a result of the incident.
