SALEM, Ore. -- The University of South Carolina Beaufort men's golf team shaved one shot off its first-round score but slipped four spots to 15th place after the second round of the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships on Wednesday at Creekside Golf Club.
The Sand Sharks posted a team score of 311 in the second round and have a 36-hole total of 623.
Defending champion Oklahoma Christian moved into the lead with a round of 288 and sits at 585, six shots ahead of Our Lady of the Lake and seven shots clear of Johnson & Wales.
Senior Jack Bingham posted the best round of the day for USCB with a 75, followed by sophomore Brian Langley and senior Luke McClellan with 77s, senior Mark Phillips with an 82 and sophomore Coley Davis with an 85.
Phillips (74-82--156) and Bingham (81-75--156) are tied for 72nd. Langley (80-77--157) is tied for 78th, McClellan (81-77--158) is tied for 84th, and Davis (77-85--162) is tied for 118th.
The Sand Sharks tee off on No. 10 starting at 12:20 p.m. Pacific time for today's third round.
