EVENTS

  • There is a parent meeting for cheerleaders at 6:30 p.m. today.

  • The school's youth football and cheerleading camp for first- through eighth-graders will be June 11-13. The camp costs $40. Details: 843-522-5500

  • HELPING HANDS

  • The schoolwide collection of canned goods for HELP of Beaufort will conclude Tuesday. Donations may be left with Mrs. Grooms in the front office.

  • BEAUFORT ACADEMY

    EVENTS

  • Fifth-grade orientation for current and prospective students is today. Prospective students should contact Mrs. M.J. Simmons at 843-524-3393.

  • Talent Expo 2012 submissions are due Tuesday to Mr. Seaman.

  • Upper-level Spanish students will spend time with migrant workers at Leroy Browne Medical Center on St. Helena Island on Wednesday.

  • Middle school academic awards will be given at 8:15 a.m. Thursday.

  • Upper school academic awards will be given at 6 p.m. Thursday.

  • Pre-kindergarten through fourth-graders will see the Wizard of Oz at USCB on Thursday.

  • Upper school physics students will attend Physics Day at Carowinds on Friday.

  • BEAUFORT MIDDLE SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • School tours for new parents will take place at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday. Contact the guidance department.

  • The eighth-grade social will be 5-8 p.m. Friday.

  • Spirit night at Chick-fil-A is 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 21.

  • The Scholastic book fair will run May 22-25.

  • Spring band and chorus performances will be at 6 p.m. May 24.

  • LADY'S ISLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    ACHIEVEMENTS

  • The school is finishing its second year as one of 43 Arts in Basic Curriculum sites in the state. The ABC project is a statewide initiative that strives to provide comprehensive arts education for all S.C. students. Lady's Island Elementary used the $4,500 grant that came with the designation to provide artists in residence and resources for their school beautification project.

  • EVENTS

  • This week is teacher and staff appreciation week.

  • The Lady's Island firefighters will join the school for lunch today.

  • The schoolwide trip to "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts will be 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday.

  • The SIC will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday.

  • The first-grade field trip to Hunting Island is Friday.

  • The Project Unify track meet is Friday.

  • RIVERVIEW CHARTER SCHOOL

    EVENTS

  • The third-grade "Pirates" play will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.

  • The strings year-end concert will be at 5 p.m. May 21.

  • HELPING HANDS

  • The Beaufort High School Class of 1972's 40th reunion will consist of two events June 29 and 30. From 6 to 11 p.m. June 29, alumni will gather at Darrah Hall at the Penn Center on St. Helena Island.
