USC Beaufort baseball player Ty Main was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Team for District 2, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Puerto Rico.

Main, a senior outfielder from MIddletown, Md., was one of 10 players named to the District 2 team in the College Division, which includes NAIA schools, as well as Canadian schools and two-year institutions.

Main, who graduated from USCB on Friday, has a 3.47 GPA in business administration. The switch-hitting leadoff man also was a second-team All-Sun Conference selection this season. He is hitting .315 with five doubles, two triples, three home runs and 28 RBIs.

As an Academic All-District selection, Main is in the pool of nominees for the Capital One Academic All-America team, which will be selected later this month.
