The 13th annual A Taste of Beaufort Festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort with the Shaggin' with a Taste party. Food from local restaurants and beer and wine will be available for purchase. The Headliners will perform, and the Beaufort Shag Club will be there for shag lessons and demonstrations.
New this year to the festival is the arts and crafts market, which will be open in the park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 and 5. At 8 a.m. May 5, the festival's 5K and a Walk Through History will begin. The Popcorn Shrimp Run for ages 7 and younger begins at 8:45 a.m. at the corner of Bay and Newcastle streets.
After that, the main event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 4 in the waterfront park. Tickets to purchase food are $1 each, and food will be sold for between two and seven tickets.
