Annual meeting set for Palmetto Electric

Palmetto Electric Cooperative will hold its annual members meeting Saturday at its office on U.S. 278, three miles west of Ridgeland.

Registration begins at noon and ends at 6 p.m. An auction of co-op service vehicles and office equipment also begins at noon. The flea market will open at noon and remain open throughout the day.

Four directors will be elected. Incumbent William J. Nimmer is running unopposed for Position 1, Beaufort County. For Beaufort County's Position 4, incumbent David A. Solaro runs unopposed.

Incumbent James O. Freeman is running unopposed for Position 1, Hampton County. Incumbent Eunice F. Spilliards is running unopposed for Position 1, Jasper County.

Capital Credits checks will be mailed the following week to members served by the cooperative in 1983 and in 2011 who register at the annual meeting. Members who don't attend will receive their checks by mail in December.

All registered members will receive a $15 credit on their electric bill and a 32-can soft tote cooler. They also qualify to win one of several prizes to be given away, including a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup. Members must be present to win.
