ENRICHMENT
The Lowcountry Master Gardeners Association has established an annual scholarship for students from Beaufort, Colleton and Jasper counties who are attending Clemson University. To be eligible, students must be majoring in horticulture, turfgrass, agricultural education, forestry or environmental and natural resources. For more information, students should contact Clemson's financial aid office, which is administering the scholarship. The Governor's School for Science and Mathematics will host GoSciTech, a summer camp program that includes physics, chemistry, robotics, electronics and programming, anatomy and marine biology. Speeches for SADD officers are due Monday to Mrs. Rhatigan. The Spanish Honor Society luncheon will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. A blood drive is scheduled noon-4 p.m. Thursday. Prom is at 8 p.m. Saturday. The school is offering an SAT prep course for all Beaufort area students on Saturdays, April 21-May 19. Enrollment is open until Wednesday; cost is $350. The annual Miss BHS Pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Arts Center at Beaufort High. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 day of the pageant. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Celestine Lewis/Eleanor Mack Leadership Scholarship fund. HELPING HANDS Students have collected $1,150.84 for Pennies for Patients, a service and philanthropy program that helps people with blood cancers. The top fundraisers were Mrs. Samuel's second-grade class. They will have a pizza party and receive a bronze pennant for raising $178.57.
