The Walmart on Hilton Head Island announced Wednesday it is seeking 85 additional employees to staff its newly expanded store on Pembroke Drive.
Work began about a year ago on a 22,035-square-foot expansion of the store, and is expected to be completed later this summer, according to a spokeswoman for the Arkansas-based retail giant.
The completed project will include new parking spaces, a new color scheme, and a new loading dock and trash compactor.
According to store manager Daniel Gaddy, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. He also said workers are needed to staff all parts of his store, including grocery, bakery and supervisory positions.
In addition to its benefit program, the store offers matching 401(k) contributions of up to 6 percent of pay, according to a statement the company released Wednesday.
The majority of new workers will begin work in May to help prepare the store for expansion opening later in the summer.
