BOYS TENNIS

Beaufort High 5, Hilton Head Island High 1: The Eagles took the top three singles matches en route to an easy win.

Beaufort High (12-5) gets back into its Region 8-AAAA schedule today at 4 p.m., hosting Summerville. The Eagles and Green Wave are both undefeated in the region.

Bluffton 7, Battery Creek 0: The Bobcats improved to 4-0 in Region 7-AAA with the shutout of the Dolphins.

Bluffton (10-3) continues region play Thursday at Berkeley.

Beaufort Academy 7, Whale Branch 1: The Eagles wrapped up their regular season with a victory over the Warriors. Beaufort Academy (3-6) now waits to find out whether it will earn a spot in the SCISAA playoffs, which will be April 23-30. The Eagles expect to find out their fate by Friday.

Dustin Jagos, at No. 1 singles, was the lone winner for Whale Branch.

BOYS SOCCER

Hilton Head High 4, Berkeley 0: Chris MacMurray, Chip Tremarelli, Francisco Gomez and Chase Hoffman each scored a goal to help the Seahawks remain undefeated in Region 7-AAA.

Goalies Mike Ritterbeck and Brian Ludewic combined for three saves in the shutout.

Hilton Head High (8-3 overall, 4-0 region) plays a non-region game in Columbia at Cardinal Newman at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Battery Creek 3, Cane Bay 0: Manuel Mejia made six saves, including a key stop on a penalty kick, and the Dolphins went on to record their fifth shutout of the season.

William Lopez and Oscar Tierrablanca had a goal and an assist each for Battery Creek. Manny Gonzalez also scored for the Dolphins.

Battery Creek next travels to Garrett Academy on Thursday.

JV: Cane Bay 3, Battery Creek 2

GIRLS SOCCER

Beaufort High 3, Fort Dorchester 0: Jillian Damude scored twice, and Alex Zapp had the other goal as the Eagles improved to 4-0 in Region 8-AAAA.

Goalkeeper Carson Moore made eight saves for the shutout.

Beaufort High (5-9) plays Friday at Ashley Ridge.

Cane Bay 5, Battery Creek 3: Cali Caulder scored two goals, and goalie Samantha Colleran made 24 saves, but it wasn't enough to give the Dolphins their first Region 7-AAA win of the season.

Victoria Hill also had a goal for Battery Creek (5-5 overall, 0-4 region), which plays Thursday at Garrett Academy.

JV: Beaufort High 2, Fort Dorchester 0

JV: Battery Creek 9, Cane Bay 2

BASEBALL

Hilton Head Christian 9, Hilton Head Prep 6: Caleb Workman had two hits and drove in four runs to propel the Eagles in the island rivalry.

Hilton Head Christian's Reese Dolyniuk also had two hits to go along with two RBIs and a pair of stolen bases. Alex Cooler collected a hit and an RBI.

Alec Ambrosic pitched five innings for the win, allowing three hits and two earned runs. He struck out three. Andrew Halley worked in relief.

The Dolphins' Greg Warren took the loss.

The Eagles (10-6 overall, 3-4 SCISAA Region 3-AAA) next host Pinewood Prep on Friday.

MIddle school: Hilton Head 13, McCracken 12, 8 innings (championship)

SOFTBALL

Thomas Heyward Academy 8, Pinewood Prep 2: Ashlie Layman went 2 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs, and she also earned the pitching victory for the Rebels.

Layman allowed one earned run on four hits and a walk. She struck out 10.

Andrea Daring went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Caitlyn Cooler was 2 for 3 for Thomas Heyward (15-1), which plays at at St. Andrew's at 5 p.m. Thursday in Savannah.

BOYS GOLF

Beaufort High, Hilton Head Island High: The Eagles and Seahawks competed at Penny Branch Golf Club in Hampton County, with Beaufort High placing third in a meet won by Hilton Head High.

The Seahawks' Brooks Moody earned medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 33. Other Hilton Head High finishers were Andrew Orischak (35), Troy Hoisington (39) and Chris O'Donnell (41).

For Beaufort High, Josh Fickes shot 37, Taylor Simonsen had 40, Tommy Earl had 45 and Patrick Watson shot 49.
