Led by senior Luke McClellan, who is tied for the individual lead at 4-under par, the USC Beaufort men's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Embry-Riddle Bash at the Beach at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Sand Sharks posted team scores of 295 and 296 on Saturday, good for a 591 team total that is six shots behind leader Webber International (585). Northwood (586) is second, and SCAD Savannah (589) is third.
McClellan shot 1-under 71 in the opening round and followed it with a 3-under 69 in the second round. He is tied with SCAD's Billy Nisbet for the overall lead, one shot ahead of Northwood's Mike Basinski.
USCB's Mark Phillips (72-75--147) is tied for 14th, Travis Cashion (74-76--150) is tied for 24th, Brian Langley (78-76--154) is tied for 35th and Jack Bingham (80-80--160) is tied for 50th.
The final round begins at 8 a.m. today.
