USC Beaufort men in 3rd place at Camp LeJeune

The USC Beaufort men's golf team had a solid day in rainy conditions Saturday at Paradise Point Golf Club at Camp LeJeune, N.C., and the Sand Sharks are tied for third entering today's final round in the 41st annual Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Championship.

The Sand Sharks, fifth in the NAIA rankings, posted a team score of 2-over-par 290 on the par-72 Gold Course in the second round. USCB is tied for third with Shorter (Ga.), seven shots behind Methodist (N.C.) and two back of Oglethorpe (Ga.).

Brian Langley (67-72) leads USCB at 3 under, followed by Luke McClellan (68-72) at 2 under and Mark Phillips (68-73) at 1 under. Jack Bingham (68-77) is 3 over, and Travis Cashion (75-73) is 6 over.

The Sand Sharks will be paired with Methodist, Oglethorpe and Shorter for the final round on the Gold Course starting at 8:50 a.m. today.
