Beaufort High 2, Ashley Ridge 1: Down 1-0 at the half, David Seguine evened it with seven minutes remaining and Hector Lopez won it at the 3-minute mark.

Mack Stansell saved 11 shots in goal for Beaufort (4-2, 2-1), which hosts Stratford at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Beaufort Academy 9, St. Andrew's 1: Gibson Achurch scored three times and Billy Dailey scored twice to lead the Eagles to their first win of the season.

Jack Olson, Jack Dailey, Finn Koppernaes and Drummond Koppernaes added goals, while George Sanford and Olson had two assists and Connor Akers had one.

Beaufort Academy (1-5-2) next plays at at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hilton Head Chrisitian.

Beaufort High 4, Ashley Ridge 1: Molly Murphy and Alex Zapp each scored twice for the Eagles, and Carson Moore saved 10 shots in goal. Beaufort (3-3, 2-0) plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Stratford.

Hilton Head Island High 7, Battery Creek 0: The top-ranked Seahawks stormed past the Dolphins in a Region 7-AAA matchup.

Dolphins goalies Samantha Colleran and Caroline Vido had 23 saves combined.

Battery Creek (4-3, 0-2) is off until April 10, when they host Bluffton.


Bluffton 23, Battery Creek 5, 5 innings: Whitney Morrell led the way for the Bobcats, going 2 for 2 at the plate with an inside-the-park home run and three RBIs.

Morgan Parker was 2 for 2 and Kaylee Osborne earned the win on the mound for Bluffton (9-0, 6-0), which leaves today for the Santa Fe Raiders Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Shilyah Jones had two hits including an inside-the-park HR for Battery Creek (1-11), which plays at Beaufort at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Tori Hill had a pair of strikeouts on the mound and a hit, while Sara Cathey added an RBI.

Thomas Heyward 16-19, Cathedral Academy 0-0: Ashlie Layman won Game 1, facing just nine batters and striking out seven in the three-inning game. Layman also drove in two runs at the plate.

Andrea Daring went 2 for 3, and Taylor Ernestine went 1 for 2 with two RBIs.

In the second game, the Rebels had 14 hits in four innings and Ernestine allowed just one hit and struck out five.

Brianna Kelnhofer led the way, going 3 for 4 with three RBIs, while freshman Laynee Bryan went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Chandler Cook was 2 for 2 with two RBIs.

Thomas Heyward (11-1) leaves today for the Santa Fe Raiders Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Bluffton 3, Berkeley 0 (Wednesday): The Bobcats got the shutout and stayed perfect.


Hilton Head Island High 154, Bluffton 158, Beaufort High 168, Whale Branch 247: Bluffton's Alec Weary took the medalist honors with an even-par 36 at Lady's Island, but Hilton Head High, led by Troy Hoisington's 37, took the team title.

Other scorers for Hilton Head High were Brooks Moody with 39, Andrew Orischak with 39, Gavin Lindstrom with 39 and Clay Mansill with 42. Other scores for Bluffton included Wesley Long at 38, Elliott Johnson at 40, Michael McGuire at 44 and Seth Kombrink at 47.

Josh Fickes led Beaufort High with a 38, followed by Tommy Earl at 40, Taylor Simonsen at 42, Patrick Watson at 48 and Kevin Feltner at 61. Whale Branch's scores were Michael Dantzler at 51, Matthew McCray at 57, James Scott at 68, Robert Fiocco at 71 and Brandon Jordan at 71.

Beaufort plays next April 17 vs. Wade Hampton at Penny Branch.


Bluffton 7, Battery Creek 0: Bluffton improves to 8-2 with a sweep of Battery Creek. The Dolphins fall to 4-3.
