Simply Southern gets second location two doors down

Simply Southern Decor & More, an antiques and consignment shop in downtown Beaufort, is opening a second store two doors away.

Simply Southern Too could open as early as next week at 705 Bay St., which Lowcountry Winery vacated a month ago, owner Darlene Kelly said.

It will be similar to the current store, which has furniture, antiques, books, jewelry, decorations, and odds and ends. However, Kelly plans to sell her higher-end items out of the new store.

Kelly opened Simply Southern on Charles Street about two years ago and moved to 709 Bay St. after a year.

Kelly believes the area can become a destination for those shopping for antiques and decorations, citing Jolie Home Accents between the Simply Southern stores, and the recently opened Antiques and Such across the street.

"I'm hoping that we'll build up a nice little antique area so when people come to town they can just jump from store to store to store," she said.

Hours will be the same at both Simply Southern locations: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
