Battery Creek High School

ACHIEVEMENTS

Congratulations to Tyrell Pickney and Maria Solorio for their winning artwork in the Beaufort Art Association Sprint Exhibit at the Charles Lind Brown Activity Center.

EVENTS

The next PTSO meeting is at 6:30 p.m. March 22 at the school.

ENRICHMENT

The school's Little Dolphins Football Camp will be 8-11 a.m. June 25 through 27 at the football stadium. The camp teaches basic fundamentals and includes camp competitions. HELPING HANDS

The SADD Club is collecting gift card donations for tornado victims in Indiana. Gift cards to Staples, Lowe's, Home Depot, Kroger, JC Penney's, Sears, Target, Walmart and Kohl's are needed. Donations can be made through the end of March. Details: Ms. Grooms, 843-322-5582

The Future Business Leaders of America club is participating in a statewide service project. They are making Build-a-Bears for the Shriners Children Hospital in Greenville. The club is seeking donations of bears or clothes for the bears. Details: Desiree Mungin or Regina Butler, 843-322-5500

Beaufort Academy

EVENTS

Students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten will begin planting their spring garden March 19.

A representative from Winthrop University will be on campus at 3:15 p.m. March 20.

The Parents Association meeting is at 7 p.m. March 22.

The school's annual yard sale will be March 24 at the school's gym.

Beaufort Elementary School

EVENTS

The AMES arts night will be at 6 p.m. March 28 at the Beaufort High School Performing Arts Center.

Beaufort Middle School

EVENTS

Spirit Night is 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 19 at Chick-fil-A. The softball team will host.

Eighth-graders will take the PASS writing test March 20-21.

The SIC meets at 5:30 p.m. March 26 in the media center.

Broad River Elementary School

EVENTS

There is a parent meeting for families new to the school next school year at 6 p.m. March 29.

James J. Davis Early Childhood Center

EVENTS

Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration is March 19-23 at the school.

Lady's Island Elementary School

EVENTS

Chick-fil-A night is 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 22.

Child Find will take place March 26-30.

The community is invited to the fourth grade's presentation of "The Adventures of Lewis and Clark" at 2 p.m. March 29. The musical journey will tell the story of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark as they explored the Louisiana Purchase.

Mossy Oaks Elementary School

EVENTS

Report cards will be sent home March 30.

The PTO is planning a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21 at the school. A table may be purchased for $10. Any unsold items will be donated to CAPA.

Riverview Charter School

ACHIEVEMENTS

Two teams advanced to the state Odyssey of the Mind competition Saturday in Charleston. Congratulations to Team "You Make the Call" and members Cooper Woods, Chris Hoogenboom, Troy Davenport, Tommy Humphries, Luke McGuire and Olivia Ward. Congratulations to Team "To Be or Not to Be" and members Phillip Whitman, Luis Vega, Jace Ray, Joey Calandra, Alex Long and Austin VanHorn.

Violin player Olivia Ward earned first chair in the district orchestra.

HELPING HANDS

First-graders are collecting used shoes for their "Soles for Souls" project, an integration between their conservation unit and the Beaufort Twilight Run. Used shoes can be donated to any first-grade classroom at the school.

St. Peter Catholic School

EVENTS

There will be no school March 23.

Eighth-graders will act out the Stations of the Cross at 9 a.m. MArch 20 and at 5:30 p.m. March 23 at the church. All are invited.

The Beaufort High School Class of 1972's 40th reunion will consist of two events on June 29 and 30. From 6 to 11 p.m. June 29, alumni will gather at Darrah Hall at the Penn Center on St. Helena Island.
