Oakley, Lanier

Margaret Blair Lanier and Ross Stanton Oakley, both of Columbia, S.C., were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Orangeburg, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Crumpler Lanier of Orangeburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Azariah Lanier of Columbia; the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Leonidas Culler (Elinor Price) of Orangeburg and the late Mr. William Blake Kaliher of Orangeburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woody Fowler Oakley, of Beaufort, S.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Oakley of Kenansville, N.C. and the late Mr. Frances Fowler Oakley; the late Mrs. Margaret Loftin Henderson of Hartford, Ala. and the late Mr. Samuel Eugene Loftin.

Officiating the ceremony was the Rev. Judson A. Jordan.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Matrons of honor were Angela Lanier Burroughs and Suzanna Lanier Crabb, sisters of bride, both of Orangeburg.

Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Michele Floyd of Columbia; Mary Grace Edwards of Charleston; Trenholm Buyck Hardison of Columbia; Megan Burckhalter Harrison of Columbia; Barbara Ann Hughes of Columbia; Bianca Gertrude Pfeffer of Columbia; Anna Margaret Sanders of Orangeburg and Jessica Ann Walton of Atlanta, Ga.

The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Joseph Allen Carrington, III of Columbia; Chad Michael Folger Carter of Atlanta, Ga.; Jacob Edgar Deuel of Greenville; Mitul Mahesh Desai of Beaufort; Andrew Newton Green of Columbia; Michael Gregory Haught of Chicago, Ill.; Taylor Rae Ingram of Charleston; Brian Keach Jordan of Columbia; Seth Hayes Oakley of Glen Head, N.Y. and James Adam Shuford of Charlotte, N.C.

A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia the couple will reside in Columbia.

Mrs. Oakley is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She is currently employed as a School Psychologist by Lexington-Richland School District 5.

Mr. Oakley is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. He is currently employed as a Civil Engineer with Alliance Consulting Engineers, Inc.
