Susan Joy Jesella and Samuel James Rowan Jr. of Bluffton, were married May 8, 2010 in Riverbend at sunset. The vows were convalidated on October 8, 2011 by Fr. David Nerbun at Saint Andrew Chapel, Bluffton.

The bride is the daughter of the late Irene and Edward P. Jesella of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and St. Petersburg, Fla.

The groom is the son of Sarah Anne and Samuel James Rowan of Athens, Ga.

Rite witnesses were Hedy Gay Fredricks, twin-sister of the bride, and Anne and Jim Rowan. The couple was joined by their children Christopher and Kenya Rowan of Watkinsville, Ga., Benjamin Rowan of Athens, Ga., and grandchildren Alex and Delaney of Watkinsville, Ga.

The bride is a graduate of Niagara University with a BS in Nursing. She is a retired Registered Nurse from the Department of Veteran Affairs.

The groom is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a BS in Biology and holds a teaching certificate from the University of Georgia. He is a Sixth grade science teacher with the Jasper County School System.

The couple resides in Bluffton.
