Mr. and Mrs. Gene Howard of Beaufort announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Ruby Howard of Beaufort, to Pennock Stephen Ten Eyck of Beaufort. Pennock is the son of Ms. Deborah Ten Eyck of Beaufort, and Peter Ten Eyck of Rock Hill, S.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of late Mary and Samuel Griffin and late Ruby and Chester Howard. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Mary Ten Eyck of Tully, N.Y., and the late Mr. Hendrix Ten Eyck and the late Edith and Walter Urban.

The wedding is planned for March 24, 2012 at Carteret Street United Methodist Church.

The bride-elect is a graduate of East Carolina University and was also a member and president of Zeta Tau Alpha. She is currently employed as a dance teacher at Lady's Island Elementary School and Jayne Richardson's Dance Studio.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Trident Technical College. He is currently employed as a chef at Saltus River Grill.
