Two public meetings are planned this month for a charter school to open in August in Jasper County.

The Royal Live Oaks Academy of the Arts and Sciences Charter School will be open to any student in the state and provide hands-on learning and a longer school day with no homework, according to a news release.

Informational meetings will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Coosawhatchie Community Center and 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Levy Limehouse Bellinger Hill Community Center. Details: Karen Wicks, 888-288-9667.
