Four Beaufort High School wrestlers earned all-region status last season. The Eagles' goal for 2012 is only to increase that number.

Beaufort High plays host to the Region 8-AAAA individual tournament today. The winner from each weight class earns the all-region title.

"It's a cool way to do it," Beaufort High coach Bill DaMude said. "Because they have to earn it."

The top three wrestlers from each weight class advance to Lower State. DaMude hopes the Eagles can qualify 10.

Among the matches on his radar are Beaufort High's Jake Sharp wrestling Summerville's James Sass, a freshman ranked No. 3 in Class 4-A. Sharp earlier this season set the Beaufort High record for quickest pin.

Another match to watch is Beaufort High's Clayton Wynn wrestling Fort Dorchester's DaQuan Wilson at 152 pounds.
