Military honors

Thyiatira T. Singleton has been promoted to technical sergeant by the U.S. Air Force.

Singleton is an Airman Leadership School instructor assigned to Shaw Air Force Base. She has served in the military for nine years.

She is the daughter of Deborah A. Deas of Chelsea, Mass. Her husband, Evan, is the son of Walter and Gussie Mae Singleton of Beaufort.

Singleton graduated in 2002 from Lynn Classical High School in Massachusetts and received an associate of arts in 2002 from Community College of the Air Force, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
