A 21-year-old Columbus, Ga. woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting Thursday night in Port Royal, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer is reporting. The paper identified the woman as Velencia Compton, a Columbus native and sailor stationed at Naval Hospital Beaufort. According to Port Royal Police, Compton was found shot in the head in her apartment on Battery Lane after a domestic dispute with Leo DeAndre Scott, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her 3-year-old son Jayden. Port Royal police and Georgia authorities are still looking for Scott, and have issued an arrest warrant charging the 25-year-old man with murder.
